To people concerned with Fish Culture

It has been twenty years since we started offering you our disinfectants, for use in a reservoir and a pond, stabilized chlorine dioxide, "BIOTALK^®" and  "BIOGEAR"

We thank you very much for your many years of patronage and great support.

Recently, expectation toward "BIOTALK^®" from fish culture industry has been growing, with prohibition against use  of furan, formalin, malachite green, and potassium permanganate intensified.

"BIOTALK^®" was originally improved as an disinfectant for use in a reservoir, its effects in prevention and cure of gill disease and scuticca were observed by fish culturists. We have found that some of our customers are successful in strengthening effects of our products by devising methods to use them, but not all.
Compared to sodium hypo chlorine, bleaching powder, formalin, and potassium permanganate, stabilized chlorine dioxide is a stronger disinfectant. Since 'BIOTALK' does not emit free chlorine, it can be used for freshwater fish under certain conditions. However,
if there is formalin remained in the water or if it is used with some other chemicals, the poison many occur from the mixture
and may cause fish to be exposed to a danger of mass-killing.
When you can't find any effects of other medicines for fish and try to use them with our 'BIOTALK^®', we would like recommend that
you should use our measuring kit for the residual concentration of chlorine dioxide, 'BIOTALK^®', or have a pilot experiment, in order to avoid any kinds of accidents.
This measuring kit can be also used for the residual concentration of free chlorine, or formalin. If you need further information about the kit, please ask us any time.

We would like you to keep the following points(1-6) in your mind.

1. When 'BIOTALK^®' is used for prevention or cure of fish diseases, it does not always work as you expect.
Since there are many kinds of fish diseases, such as internal or external diseases, it is necessary for us to choose certain kind of medicine for each disease.
Even when 'BIOTALK^®' shows its effect in disinfection of reservoirs, it can't be sais that the effect can completely reach farther into fish body. 'BIOTALK^®' still has a great power to remove fungi from water.

2. One of many causes of fish diseases is unbalance in fish environment, for instance, virus, bacteria, parasite, stress, unbalanced nutrition of food, dissolved oxygen, and pH in water temperature. The effect of 'BIOTALK^®' will vary depending on these conditions surrounding fish. Therefore, you need to have pilot experiments before use so that you can make sure the effect and safety of our product.

3. 'BIOTALK^®' is not licensed as a medicine for fish diseases. For that reason, it would be impossible and illegal for us to tell you about how to use it for specific pathogenic bacteria and its effects in the restraint of them and the cure of the disease.

4. These are the areas in which we have found the effect of our products by using other technology we have.
Gill disease in freshwater fish culture(coloboma, petechiae), peduncle disease, coldwater disease, streptococcicosis, edwardsiellosis, ichthyophthiriasis, scutica and lymphocystis disease in flatfish, new ulcer disease in nishikigoi.

5. You are free to devise and test methods to use this disinfectant. We would like to recommend you that you should make pilot
experiments before you start using new materials or products including 'BIOTALK^®'.

6. We offer you the following services, the diagnosis of fish suffering from a disease with a dissecting microscope, the pathogenic bacterium discrimination test, the pathogenic fungus susceptibility test, the incubation examination of residual on the bottom or walls of a pond, the examination of food hygiene(microbes), the examination of water, and reagent equipments sales.
